Rear Suspension

Rear suspension torsion bars may be of any origin. Rear suspension springs plates may be of any origin. Torsion bar adjusters are allowed. Torsion bar grommets may be of any manufacturer but must retain stock VW dimensions.

Rear torsion bars may be additionally supported only by the attachment of a terminal end (support member) of the roll cage.

Rear shock tower may be removed to body mounting bolthole. Lower rear shock mounts may be removed and or replaced. Rear shocks may be relocated, but must bolt directly to rear trailing arm or swing axle. No remote mounted shocks.

Rear trailing arms must remain stock, shape, size, and configuration, but may be reinforced by adding material.

CR10 SHOCK ABSORBERS and BUMP STOPS

Only one shock per wheel is allowed. Stock shock mounts must be utilized. Shock mounting bolts may be changed to a maximum of 0.5" in diameter. Any manufacture shock allowed with 2.5" maximum outside diameter. Cooling fins and/or reservoirs allowed. No air shocks or coil over shocks are allowed. No hydraulic bump stops allowed. No bypass shocks allowed.

So from reading this there are some big changes. We can now box in our trailing arms, use a 2.5 shock, relocate our rear upper shock mount. The relocation of the upper mount seems big since now it seems we will not be limited on the length of shock we use. The 2.5 will help alot as well. what are your guys take on this?

Were did you get this info. Leave it to SCORE to screw up a nother class. I say leave the class alone. yes there are little things but not moving the shocks. I think all of us that are racing write know should make the rule chanes not others that dont race the class. Say good buy to class 11. Hope not............

I agree with denis they are going to ruin this class i think all of us here at class11coalition should rite to score saying that we do not want this rule change we want to race REAL class 11 not this new radical class 11 OLD SCHOOL CLASS 11 FOR LIFE.

Re: New Score rules for Class 11 starting in 2006! 6 years ago #1010

That was going to be my question.

Why did SCORE feel it necessary to make these changes? Has someone complained to them in the past or communicated with them about a rule change?

Who dreamed this one up?

Anyone else have any info?

Also, who on here would like to take a quick poll on wether or not the rules should be changed. I agree that we should talk to SCORE about this rule change and getting it returned to its original state before people go building cars to these new specs. What does everyone think about this?

Got this info from Score website right on the homepage. Another funny new rule is that class 11 must always have a co driver in the car. :? Seems with these news rules we are a bus box and 930 cv's away from being clas 5/1600. Think these rule changes have anything to do with the big name guys building cars and the project ELF car? Seems now that some big names are joining our class they want to make it more comfortable. They can't see being able to race on such old technology. What a bunch of pussies.

Yeah I've heard about the ELF project. I didnt consider that having any affect on these rule changes though I did consider someone having complained about something to that effect causing the rule change.

Well boys....What do you all propose we do about this?

Well if score sticks to there guns about these rule changes then the only thing I think that would work would be to split the class. Something like 7s and 7sx.

Monday morning start calling score and tell them we dont want them. Tech rules 760-599-1013. Corperate office 818-225-8402. What else did they change in OUR class. I have the 2003-2006 rule book with rules . its still old school. Maybe this is why Eric is leaving the class.
