Hey Dave, congrats on the stock bug win. We saw you today on the freeway between Barstow and Victorville. We were taking the girls out to prerun. They did a cold lap, hopfully everything should be good for next weekend. Do you think you're up for the Toys for Tots in December?

Great job to everyone who entered this years cup. We finished 9 out of 10 cars this race and that got everyone's attention.
DAVE, Great race and well run. Everyone checked out clean on motors and tranny's and your name will go on the base of the cup forever. Next year we are running 2 weekends for the Stock Bug Challenge Cup. Battle at Primm and Rage in the River. 4 Days with all sorts of ways to get points. Landrush starts and a few rule changes but we will update when we have everything. Even if you break the first weekend you will not be out and you can still win the cup. We might have VW on board but I'm pushing for 10,000.00 plus in cash and prizes above the normal payouts. Next years no excuses unless you left your balls at home! Plan it in your schedule now while you can. We should have 20 plus cars next year! JR Cold Forged Racing |

Well done on putting this all together. Congrats on your new position as SNORE SB Rep. For the record, my balls were out there, just in my wifes purse. |

RACE REPORT 1158 First off I want to thank you guys for the nice words, ans especially my son Robby who held on white knuckled the last 20 or so miles. You did a great job son. Before I left the start I told my self to drive at 65-70 Percent, which for the first time in a looong time I really did BUT 5 or so miles into the race I came up upon Scot Sebastion who was stopped behind a Baja bug. It took a few minutes to get by the baja which allowed Cory and Neri to get quite a jump on me. In fact at the times you could look way across the valley they were nowhere to be scene. I still stayed to my game plan even though they were in front and I couldnt see them. I caught both of them running nose to tail in the sand that had about 20 lines threw it. I took a few different lines than they did then was up front but I knew I had to fuel at pit B. I get onto the pavement figuring there was a speed limmit(there was none there) I am going 50 exactly when Neri passes me then slows to about 25. I then think maybe the speed is 25. I got to the drivers meeting late and could not remember. All of a sudden Neri and I are at 25 MPH side by side!!. I finally figure there is no one there and pull him threw the gears to the left turn. I take the hard left, Neri goes High and passes me threw some gigantic holes!! I then pass him back and lead him to Pit B where my wife! and sons are there to put 5 gallons in my car. As I stop Neri and Corry go by. I leave the pit with Neri and Corry about 3/4 of a mile in front. I finally cought Corry in the sand and passed him rite at the end before the dry lake. Corry didnt seam to like that and drove into me as I was passing. Of course the Deathmobile came out of it with only a scratch while Cory's car looked like a truck hit him. I could quite make the time I lost up on Neri and he was leaving main just as I pulled in. Fueled quickly and left hot to catch Neri. I go up and over the bridge and drive rite by the course and end up way way up in the power plant to a locked gate!!!I turn around to Robbies yelling and hurry back the way I came. I come out of the power plant to see Corry coming down the bridge. I waite! for him to see where the course is!! and follow him back onto the course!! Now it is on!! I pass Corry rite away but Neri has a big jump on me now!! I start pushing harder, kinda like a Battle at Primm pace but I cant see him. Finally Robbie yells \"THERE HE IS\"!!!I still have to go down the poll line road and make the 180 turn to head the other direction so he is close one way but far on the course. I keep my BAP pace untill after we go threw pit A, then I start to get glimpses of him so the pace even gets stronger(the Deathmobile is fantastic in the woops) I catch him in exactly the same place as the lap befor, to the yard almost. Neri is a good driver I must say, but after I get around him I start to pull time on him BUT I have to stop for gas again at Pit B. I keep my Pace to pit B but Neri Passes me again while I am fueling!! NOW the race is on!!! I take off and get to the huge holes when all of a sudden I hear a big crunch and something that sounds like a soda can fizzing and a weird smell. II blew both rear shocks at the same exact time. I dont think somebody could do that again if they tried. Now the Deathmobile has a mind of its own, it is darn near uncontrollable. Neri is starting to get smaller as is my chance of winning this race. I start hammering like I never have before, I am on 100 percent kill by this time, I am looking at the ground more than the course but Neri seams to be getting a little smaller, by this time I am on the brink of giving up!. We go down threw the valley, out of control springing from one bump and landing off the next when Robby yells hes getting bigger!! By this time I think I am BAP and a half pace but the car felt extremely slow. The wind was high so it blew Neris dust away. I felt he was running away as I could no way drive it the way I wanted. I make the left into the real deep sand and there he is!!, about 1/4 of a mile in front of me in plain site. We both go to the extream rite and I start gaining on him. He makes the right in the sand about 1/8 of a mile in front of me. I am lucky that this part is not so ruff. I get rite on his bumper where the sand starts to go left. The Deathmobile is darn near endowing off of every bump but I leave my foot to the floor untill we get to the dry lake. Now we are in a 100 percent dead even drag race across the dry lake but the Deathmobile seams to have a little bit more as I go by him very slowly. I get enough distance to stat dusting him so I know the couse veirs off to the left but I start dusting him to the right. The more I lead him right with my dust the farther he goes to get out of my dust!! I know he cannot possible see where the couse is trying to stay out of my dust, I then turn to the left to make the sharp rite threw the gate. At this time I knew I had him because I knew who ever made that rite first was going to win ! After making the right turn I did what ever I could to keep from crashing AND I made as much dust as I could as that road is very dusty. I even went so far as to swing the rear end from side toi side. It worked, because when I made the hard left onto the bridge Neri waqs not in site! I got over half way across before he was in site. From there was smooth sailing, because I knew he would have to pass me and put time on me. We make the hard left onto the pit road and I put the Dmobile at 48.5 knowing he could not pass me with out penalty and he followed me across the finish line!! I need to thank My wife Kristine, my son Jeramy who fueled my all 3 times, Scott Sebastion from Metal Craft Trans for the great trans, Paul Hartle who road the first lap and did a outstanding job in the rite seat. Yokohama tires for the best tire in the industry!! and a shout to my good friend Robert Johnson, sorry about your bad luck, but thanks for everything. Neri and his brother did a very good job, I will go on record to say they are forsure hard runners. Chip I will get back to you on the toyz for tots, I have to see how it goes. Good luck to your ladies next week, I hope they have the times of there life!!!!!Thanks again for the nice words. Class 11 started 10 and finished 9, that is something to say, that couse is way tougher than anything at Barstow or most anywhere for that matter, IT WAS RUFF!!! 34 MPH average is something in a vw

Congrats Dave. Yes, we got hit and stuffed by a 12 car. Hope you guys arent too tight on the wheel base thing, I'm hoping its fixable but the drivers side tire is almost 2 inches closer to the front one than the passenger side? Transmission is toast, bumper decklid and drivers rear corner is bent in and down.......going to be fun, hope I make it to the Laughlin race this might have cost me my points.......

Please don't make this a big deal yet. I am hoping the individual will call me and we can discuss it. No way do I think this was intentional, but a very sad incident for me. Ill let you know what happens, Robert.
