Still sorting through the damage to the car, apears the transmission is toast, fenders ruined, bumper is bent down 3 inches, rear quarter is going to require some \"jaws of life\" assistance to straighten out and something is bent in the trailing arm, sucks they were new last race....what really sucks is that was a brand new transmission built by Scott at MetalCraft. I was taught growing up that if its an accident or you do something wrong, you appologize. Never heard from the responsible on this so I'll have to assume from here on out that it wasn't. I'll update after we tear the transmission apart at Scott's. Congrats to Neri on moving up to class champion, we are going to come back strong at Laughlin so watch out. Anyone wanna sponsor a transaxle? Ed? it appears he was aiming for your name?

If some one hits a 11 car the very least they could do is man up and apoligize, rubbing IS racing, Neri and I got to rubbing, Dave and Cory got to rubbing, But to take out a smaller class and not man up is simple dirty racing.

Robert,
I certainly can feel you. The Mint hit we received was in the same place and basically wrecked the entire car. I don't know what to say to you besides, if you need any parts that we might have to help repair your car they are yours. It is too bad that we get these expensive repairs bills that aren't our fault by someone elses mistake. The only plus side is that if we ever hit a $200,000 Trophy Truck and put some hurt to it they won't be asking us to repair it! |

Anyone wanna sponsor a transaxle? Ed? it appears he was aiming for your name? ? Wow. I have been in Texas on business and I saw this today. First off Robert, from what I was told from both invloved parties is that your car moved to the right to get out of the way and then slid back down and got clipped when the other car passed. The exact same thing happened to me at the 2008 Mint 400 on the first lap when I tried to move where there was no room to move. It was a Class 1 that clipped me and my drivers rear fender and light looked the same as yours. We got stuck as a result and the 6 of the 10 cars I passed got by us. You were one of them. For you to speculate that this was anything more than a misfortunate racing accident is a stretch at best. Do you really think a car that is leading their class and doing great overall would intentionally try to take you out and risk their race? Didn't this same driver help you out in Ridgecrest? I can't speak for Corey, but I can say that he is the one of the most telented young drivers in the desert and has never been accused of dirty driving in the countless wins he has had. You and I have had our history and have since broken bread and popped a couple of beers together (I thought). I will not comment any further on the subject as the mention of my name seems to stir things up. I haven't looked at the points, but I can tell you from experience that going in to the last race with a gotta win mentality is what I did last year and it was one hell of a race. I'd suggest that you go into the same mode. Good Luck. for the record - If you would have came in 3rd place, you would still have lost the points lead to Neri by 63. If you factor in the throw away race, you'd be down by 24. It all boils down to the last race as it usually does. |

Ed,
I have no problem with you at all. I guess what made me mad was that he did not call or even try to find me and appologize. And for the record, I have not told anyone it was Corey, I did not think it was appropriate to say his name. I saw you at the tree bar you looked like you felt bad. I would think though that he could have tried to make amendz? (spelled wrong?) Your right I will go to the last race with a gotta win mentality, Corey was wrong to not call me or find me at the race and apologize. I'm still stuck with a broken transmission and that sucks. Don't let my anger/frustration at Corey get between us, we have had our differences and we are good now, I think? Your welcome to have a beer at our pit any time. I would very much like to talk to Corey face to face though and work this out. I know he is a fast and talented driver, that's not the debate. I am concerned over the growing number of class 11's that are get taken out and nothing is done about it....I know there are two sides to every story and somewhere in the middle is the truth. And I am sure that is the case here. I'll have a beer for you at Laughlin, what do you drink again? And my fenders are up for sponsorship again if your interested. Thanks, Robert |
