What a weekend. It was cool pitting with all the 11 car guys. There family and friends. Thanks for helping the boys with repairs and pushing them to get them started. Congrats to 1188 on the win. Mike and crew on there 2nd place finish in there new car. Allen and crew on there 3rd place finish. The boys on there 4th place finish. They lost 1st gear, reverse and there clutch at mile marker 21 on the first lap. Drove the last 3 laps that way. J & J crew better luck next race. It was cool to have Full House come out and check out the cars. Sorry i didnt get to hang out and talk more. Lets hear some of your race storys about your weekend. Dennis

What a weekend. Would have been better if we would have finished the race but those are the breaks. Jeremy and I made the decision to not destroy the car and save it for the next race. Losing secong was the worst gear we could have lost. With our smaller tires first doesn't last very long and third is useless without the run you get in second gear. We had the 1188 car in our sights when second gear let go. I think we would have had him by the end of the lap. But as they say to finish first you must first finish and this time we didn't hold up the second part of that equation. Even though we didn't finish it was great to see everyone else put in a great showing and drive a gritty race.
It was great hanging out with everyone. It would be cool if we did a coalition pit everytime. I hope Jeremy and I were helpful for you guys and didn't get in the way. Congrats to Mike, Jefe and Clint for the great showing. You guys drove an awesome race and the fact that your car stayed together is a testiment to your dedication in getting the car completed.by the way, we have your jack. Cameron and his dad for the solid effort and the Carne. Thanks also Cameron for calling us on the radio and asking if you could help, even while we were racing against your car, it summed up what this coalition is all about. And to Richard and Timmy, you guys are studs. You have a bright future in racing ahead of you and are truely talented drivers. You remind me alot of Jeremy and myself. Your never say die attitude is to be commended. It was great hanging out with you both around the fire Saturday night. Dennis, what can I say. You are a wealth of knowledge and a great competitor. Thanks for being so cool and a friend. Here are a few pics of the photo shoot and the shanagins that follwed. My computer has been a little screwy so these took two days to get up. I will post more later. start finish before the race.......... The photo shoot....... The dare devil helmet that started the whole debacle...... The Leap....... And my favorite..........;) :D |

Hey guys. Just wanted to say that 1111 owes all of you a big thanks and we appreciate that we would not have had the success we did in our first race if it weren't for you. For instance:
Jason and Jeremy, you guys absorbed Jefe and I into your posse nearly a year ago and let us learn and experience your barstow races. Much thanks you you and yours for the hospitality. I feel like I have a 2nd family when I'm out there with you guys. Coffee and Breakfast from Allen is the coolest. You guys are a wealth of knowledge and you guys have helped us in many ways. You know exactly what I mean. You hooked us up with Jason a VW paradise, worked on our car, offered parts and inspiration, and your build on the internet actually started the 1111 effort. Cameron and Allen, you've always been ultra helpful on the internet Cameron. You're a true friend and it's great that we raced together, maybe we'll go with you in the future and do some CODE stuff together. Couldn't of done the race without the steering wheel and disconnect you hooked us up with. truely appreciated. Allen, you're a good vw mechanic and you're help was priceless at midnight the night before the race. You guys are the coolest. Dennis and the boys, you guys are studs, when I found out that you had no clutch, starter or 1st gear and you did that for 3 laps, I was amazed. You guys are super awesome and Dennis, you've have a very easy to talk to manner. I look forward to getting to know you guys better this season. Thanks for the help on that hill!!!! In general, our team was more of a liability than an asset for the coalition this past weekend and you guys took that in stride. That's the coolest. Next race, we'll be bringing full suspension spares (minus shocks) for bj/irs cars and that will include all parts. You guys are welcome to them of course. We owe you guys a lot, and you have shown the true spirit of sportsmanship. We barely made it to this race and luckily nothing broke, next time we'll be prepared and you guys are welcome to everything. Also, I will have some help available from my uncle for the coalition folks on the backside of the course. If he had known we didn't have coverage, he would have been at check 2 for us this race. Anyway, we'll hook him up with a radio and program it. More organization will help next time. We'll exchange frequencies and maybe setup a coalition frequency for scanning use. Details later. Although, nobody is Hawaiian, I would say you guys are definately living in the Aloha spirit. cheers, Mike |

Thanks to everyone for all the help and compliments. It was cool pitting with everybody and hanging out after the race. Gotta give some props to Micheal with the first race first finish. and the 2nd place.
It was along day for us. The first lap our first driver gets in and get stuck going up the hill and RM 21. Blows first gear out. Goes around trying to get up the hill again and blows reverse about that time the clutch is almost gone. We put a guy who has never driven an 11 car before in to finish the first and second lap. When they come around the second lap and me and timmy get in the car there is no clutch,no first, and no reverse. So me and timmy bump start in second and take off. We get stuck coming out of the first sand wash and got stuck and then at check 2 we got stuck again and sat for like 45 minutes. Got going from 2 random guys bump starting us.Then the last lap we got stuck coming out of the first wash again and then finished. It was along day but i have to say thanks to everybody and we'll see you all in April. |
