What torsion leafs are you guys running? i have heard of the sway a way but was told by a buddy (16 racer) to use stock and just adjust them tight?

We use the sway away leafs(20% stiffer I believe) and we cut and turned our beam a bunch. We love the way our front end works.

10-4 on the 1600 cars not usually running them. We've been running the stock leaves in our car with adjusters and are currently building our new front end. We're leaving the adjusters out this time around, turning the beam a little more and are going to run the stock leaves.
Youre not expecting a child anytime soon are ya Brock? I'm pretty sure its you from the forum on Desertrides...Congrats man! |

Congrats. I see you on desertrides sometimes. I'm MichaelBrenner there too. Creative huh???
We went the way of J/J 1199 with the beam turned about 1/2" and sway aways. Once our leaves got sagged in the last race, the front end was working perfect! I couldn't imagine it being better. Some people claim that the stock leaves with a similar amount of cut/turn works well. I've heard that the hott setup is about 1/8" past 1/2". Remember though. We are running a stock tank. And a big ass codriver. So. Your results may vary. If the rear was dialed in as the front was, we could have run MUCH FASTER. It would have been very interesting. That's our goal with the rear torsion adjuster, getting it in to be able to tune the rear suspension quickly. |

Hey Cameron. I'm the 'professor'. You know, being a scientist doesn't really let me practice creativity at all. I'm working on it. Gotta use the left brain every once and awhile.....I know that I got pretty creative on the driving last race, another way to say it, would be to say I nearly rolled the car doing about 50mph! Nice.

Had a 70 with adjusters and the 15% stiffer springs. Street driver with offroad stance. One click down on the rear. Loved the rear, had more suspension in the tires than in the front beam. Currnetly this is a question for #558 MDR. Similar front end, similar problem, more tire give than suspension movement. So I have the same question what do YOU run?

yep. Get those tires pumped up. with 25-30 psi, you'll get some suspension movement now.
