Since the last race Jeremy and I have been doing some small upgrades/changes to the race car. Our first order of business was to install some door bars on our cage. We really wanted them in there but just never put them in. We got those put in before our SCORE Inspection. At the inspection we were informed that we needed to add a fire wall between the drivers compartment and the fuel cell. With this in mind Jeremy and i put our aluminum skills to work and fabbed one up.

While we were at it we decided to cover our door bars in aluminum as well to give the car a real cockpit feel.

Another angle.........

We also took our shocks off to be revalved. We took the to FOX and had them do the work. While we were at it we had the guys at FOX add the 2.5 resivoirs and plumbing to the rears. What is nice is that the didn't just reduce the line down to the smaller size of a 2.0 but rather gave us new 2.0 caps that accomodate the larger line size. WE figure we probably hold atleast 3 times as much oil now. We also replaced our shafts and seals and got some "special" trophy truck/class 1 oil that fox gives to their bigger race teams. It is supposed to resit fading longer and have a higher heat tolerance. Here is a pic.............

and here is a shot for some perspective on the resi's.

Not as big as Daves but we think these will do the job just fine. We also had to get our tranny in and Mike at STUFF took care of us. We had broken all the teeth off 2nd gear on the main shaft. 9 races and this was our first tranny failure which is not to shabby. Props to MIKE at STUFF for building us a great tranny and always taking care of us. Also have to give Todd over at FOX some props for all the help his has given us and effort he has put in to get our shocks set-up right. You guys are great and team 1199 thanks you. Can't wait to get the car out and test this stuff.

since we keep getting little pits in our shock shaft we decided to add a boot over the shaft to hopefully help out

we also never had a drivers side foot rest to help hold us down into our seat so we welded in a old foot pedal

Well we got everything mounted in the car. As always, one step forward, two steps back. Sometimes I wonder if upgrades are worth it. You would think that mounting resi's would be easy but we had to rework the whole back of our car to get them to fit, that is how much bigger they are. Good news is that the car is done and we are ready for the race. Can't wait to take the green. How is every one else coming?
