Hello all,
I have a 1972 Bug that I am building for class 11. As of know I am in the tear-down stage and having trouble with the seats. The Chilton manual says to depress the leaf spring stop and move the seat 1.50\" forward, then remove the spring and slide the seat forward and off the mounts. Where is the leaf spring located? Are there any other tricks that I should know? Thank you for any and all help. |

Try using a Zawzall or Oxy/Acelene torch. If you are building a Class 11 you won't be using the stock seat much less the stock mounting bracket! Good Luck on the build!!!!!

1st remove the large garage door type spring from under the seat. (This is what helps the seat slide forward when adjusting). Then slide the seat all the way forward until it stops. There is a tab on the inner seat track next to the tunnel. Push the tab down with a long screwdriver and the seats will slide right out.
