I am in the process of designing my cage and wanted a bit of clarification on how to attach the cage to the body. SNORE apparently wants it boltes with a scab plate to sandwitch the body to the cage..
\"Cages must be securely mounted to the body or frame, braced and gusseted at
all connections. Body or cab mounted cages must not be attached by direct
welding but must be attached by and bolted through the use doubler plates on
each side with a min. thickness of .187”. Bolts that are used shall be at least
.375” dia. SAE Grade 8 or equivalent. Ends must be located to a body or frame
supporting maximum impact.\"

I would rather weld the damn thing to the tub, but if I have to bolt it I guess I will. BTW, I am going to be running a support along the pan for the a, b and c pillar to weld to..

That rule is for use if your cage is like the Chenowth cage in that the A and B pillars both bolt to the floor. If you ran a tube from the torsion housing to the front beam and the A and B pillars weld to that than you are fine. Then just plate the tubes to the body if you wish. Other tubes such as seat supports and the like can be welded directly to the tunnel.

Again, that rule is for the main cage supports so that the A and B pillars do not punch through the thin pan.

Thanks for the clarification. I figured it would be something like that but just wanted to make sure.
