Hi, I am new to the racing scene and figure class 11 seems like a fun way to get my foot in and can upgrade to 5-1600 and so on. We are from Ventura Ca. I'm 30 and my wife is 26 and we already have 3 kids so the last few years have made life a little dole. Not that kids are not awesome but we used to ride dirt bikes and have given that all up. So we're looking for some good old off road excitement. I got some info from the class 11 coalition web site. I was reading about class 11 roll cages it sounds like 11brothers sells a weld-it-yourself pre-fab kits.

Does any body know how to get thier info? Or do you know anybody else and their info? Does the year bug matter? I have a rusty 66 $150 and a dry 72 $600 I could buy.

Also if anyone has a loonngg list of general mods that are done to a class 11 that would be really awesome.

I'm going to start going out to some Southern California races to look at other cars and how they do it. Do you have any races you recommend me going to where I will see some good 11 cars?

Looking forward to some good times in the near future! Awesome website.

Thanks for your time. Jon (805)-620-2620

Jon, this last wknd you missed one of the best races Battle at Primm. We had 18 class 11's entered. You can find the schedules of the different off-road groups like SNORE, MORE, VORRA, MDR, & SCORE via google. The class 11 coalition will be your most informative source for your build. I believe Dennis at Indio Dune Buggy Center has a cage kit. Good luck on your buildup, welcome to the family of Class 11's

Nando,
Go to this site: www.snoreracing.net/images/rulebook/snore_rule_book_2009.pdf down load the pdf file an look at page 22. I would go with the .120 wall tubing. You are going to be so close to the 2000# limit with .095 wall. Also it's not required, because class 11 has steel doors. But I would put side intrusion bars in the cage. By chance that you get t-boned you'd want the extra protection.

Score is the only place where cars are checked, and yes you can run that kit in MDR-More-Snore and everywhere else. Probably 95 percent oF the class 11 cars running these days are mild steel. Same with Score, . If you are planning to run the local races the kit is fine.
