One large strap, come-alongs, Ford FWD pickup and a lot of pry bars, port-o-power can push the body into a shape that resembles a bug body. Cutting sheet metal to patch all the holes and tears, priceless.
It looks like a new body has been found, thank you Robert Johnson. Maybe this old car body will make Caliente with a lot of patches and braces... |

Jeff, I crashed my neighbors 1970 bug on Monday going for a test drive with no brakes and ran into a tree. The car is perfect from the door hinges back. Probably going to scrap it. If you want it it's yours.

Jeff,
Don't need to thank me I was just in the right place at the right time, Scott's the man who gave it to you. Glad I was there, Scott said he hadn't heard or read you were looking for one so it all sort of came together, I think its even red....Might be an Omen? When you gonna pick it up? Im there Sunday I think, hope, god willing. Corey I'll remember your trophies this time. whats left of the car? Im looking for fenders. Dave I'll call you tonight. Ed your right, he'll either drive your car into a tree or drive his car into your tree! LOL Corey glad your not seriously hurt!

Cory, You are the funniest guy on this forum. Still laughing... Did you have a dash cam installed for the test drive?
In all seriousness, thank you all for the kind offers. Robert, I will picking it up monday around noon. Looking our existing car with all the fender nutserts pulled out and missing from the hit, I am considering welding them in on the new body before paint. What do you think about that and then cutting V groves in the fenders to make thm easier to tear off in a big hit. Jeff |

Scott and Robert,
Thanks for the car. Got it home about eight this evening. Now the work begins again. We are still going to patch the old car for next two races. Hoping FOX will be able to repair our shock in time for Calentie. This Coalition rocks... Jeff |

Hey Robert,
I went to Elk Grove to see the car last night. Jack has tig welded patches all over the rear of car, anchoring the package tray once again, Any place the body was torn, he placed a patch on it. Now to the front of the pan and front and of the body! It will run again, although not as straight or prisitne for sure. Still waiting to hear from FOX on the damages to the shock. Have't touched the car from Scott. It has a lot of bondo in the drivers side that will need to be redone. Going back to tiling now. Jeff |
