I would go with a solid center disc. They are cheap and they should hold up well if you get a good quality item. 4 pucks are unnecessarily harsh and you don't need that much heat resistance anyway. Plus those engage more harshly. Most people run a disc with a stage one PP.

Solid center is fine then?
I have been told to get a \"kush lock\" clutch because the grab is not as severe and can keep the tranny in one piece a bity longer..

Is that worthwile info?

I just won the Snore 250 with a 100 percent stock Vw clutch disc, the only kind that will make your tranny live. The center is spring loaded to take the shock off the trans Mace. I run the same thing on my 1600 cars and the trannys last years without any problems. Any solid disk will NOT take the shock off the ring gear but the spring loaded stock OEM style vw disc will

Cool, the kush lock has a spring steel center (I assume for the same reason) but if the stock clutch will hold up to a 11:1 compression motor with a stage 1 pressure plate, then I will easily go that route.

I'd rather replace clutch's more often, than a tranny..

We try our fist time with a stock clutch with a 10:1 compression engine, it lasted 45 miles.
Go with the 3 or 4 puck and a stage 2 PP, you will see the difference at a big hill.
My 2 cents

I like the spring hub stock style disc. I think you can get them in better compounds of material. The springs take some shock load off the transmission. That with a stage 1 pp should work well.

Yes, in silt, washes and hills your going to feel more confident with a more aggressive setup but that will only last until the transmission goes BOOM. Then your confidence will dwindle.....
