Got a 67 with swing axle trans. and I remember awhile ago someone said they heated the frame horn below the boots and took a hammer to flatten it out at little so the swing axle boots dont get pinched between the axles and frame. Has anyone done this and I would think it would weakin the frame horn but I could be wrong?? If anyone has pics it would help out.

as long as you have tubing down to your motor mount you wont have a problem, most swing axel horns are tapped down a little to keep the boots from piching. If you do not have a cage to atach to your motormounts I would leave it alone. IRS cars have such a huge advantage now with type 2 cv being allowed it is almost silly to build a swingaxel class 11 these days

It is just a play car and I will agree with you on the IRS CVs. Everything is degreed properly at full drop but the boots still show alittle wear in them but no holes. The way I found tis out is that I am replacing the trans. mounts so hopefully that will help.
