for those that run type 2 cv's do you just run them stock or do you race prep em and swap out the cage with cromo ? and if so what brand of cage are you using ? also axles, i see the number 16 1/4 being used but with more available travel nobody ops for the 16 3/4 ? or is no big difference will they even work. as of right now i have type 2 german cv's, swayaway 16 1/4 race axles, and still havent come up with any trans flanges or drive axles. im still confused on the years of porsche stuff to use and im having a hard time buying empi cromo stuff any suggestions ? thanks for any info.

I think '78-'85 924, 924 Turbo and 944. After that the stubs and axles are way different and will not work. Type 181 Thing stubs and tranny flanges will work well. They are just getting harder and harder to find these days.

You can simply get the EMPI stuff with the cromoly cages built right in already and they are about $50 each. That's cheap. Some people run those up to 25 degrees so far.
