Our local VW mechanic had a customer's Baja Bugs steering column come loose from the body causing a total loss of control and crash. The aluminum housing on the stock column is held in place with the two allen head screws.
The housing broke here allowing the colum to drop into the guys lap.

Probably a good idea to add a U-Bolt or strap to column on the an 11 car.<br><br>Post edited by: Weasel, at: 2007/06/07 00:52
