I have been told to remove the stock wiring and start over. What is the best loom to buy for a 11 car.

It is really pretty easy to do. Are you in the San Diego area? Wiring is what I do and I would be willing to help you wire or just give you some advise. Please feel free to ask all the questions you like stupid or not. Later.

The size of the wire will depend on what that particular wires job is. When in doubt always use a size bigger than you need.

These are Maximum amperages for a 12v system. When operating at 13.6v your equivalent amperage is actually more energy than the same amperage at 12v. I always run at least 1 size larger than needed based on tables like these. and always run a 10 gauge for the alternator. Pretty much everything on a class 11 except probably auxiliary lights are going to be around 16 gauge.... ignition, oil cooler, pumpers, radio all take more juice.
Electric ignition, fuel pump, gps, intercom, warning lights, take very little power. Remember that when you're running things on the same circuit you have to add up the amperage. Gauge 12V 22 5A 20 8A 18 10A 16 20A 14 40A 12 60A 10 100A 8 150A |
