Call McKenzie's, Kartek or ORW and get Type II press in studs with regular lugnuts. I believe that this is pretty much the standard.

The sway a way ones are nice. Just remember to get the shorter ones for stock steel rims. We had some longer ones and the shank wasn't threaded all the way down to the splined region that touches the drum, so, we couldn't always get the rim fully tightened. Not good.

Whats wrong with stock lug nuts? If you decide on studs, spend the money on the good ones. We had nothing but problems with our stud kit and even cost us a race once. A lot of people run studs and have no problems at all. But dont under estimate the strength of the stock lugs/bolts, they are tuff as nails. Just make sure they are the late model (long) ones. So it takes a tad bit more effort to change out a flat, But I have faith knowing the stockers wont let us down. Thats what works for us.

Speaking of lug nuts, if you're nice enough to stop and help out a fellow racer who's changing a CV, don't put the lugs nuts in your pocket, they'll most likely need them when you're 40 miles away. I won't mention the idiot that did this but I know who I/he is.

Luckily he had a few other wheels to borrow some from. Needless to say it's a sinking gut feeling to be done with a race, back at the main pits, sipping a cold beverage and reach into your pocket and DOH!!!!!People ask why my racesuit pockets are sewn shut.

Race Entry: $400

Race Fuel: $100

Your co-drivers face when he see's the lug nuts come out of your pocket and realizing where they came from: PRICELESS

Why did you take off the wheel to change out a cv? There is no need. Swing axle guys, go figure.
