Trying to find the tallest tire i can fit under a stock height front end of a ball joint bug. i can't find the answer anywhere. I was thinking maybe 215/75? Or will that hit? I'll be adding adjusters a beam later to get a little more lift but for now i need tires that will fit and be drivable.

Dude, forget the adjusters, they break, and that sucks, just cut and turn about 3/8\" and you'll have a sweet prerunner level that can handle 215s.

Thank you so much for answering. I tried thesamba.com for answers and nobody woould reply.
Do i cut and turn both tubes on the beam 3/8? The rear is only going to be 1 click higher than stock too. I can't go any higher due to the swing axle rear. I'm afraid it wont handle good after that. You think that will put the front up higher than the rear? |

I run a 67 swing axel, between 1/2 inch to 9/16. 3/8 will do hardly anything, complete waste of time. The rear will sit down a bit from the front, but that is the nature of a 67 class 11 car. 700-15 tires will work great, and look great. Look in the Battle at Primm picture on this site, 1103 red with black fenders 1967. You can get an idea what your car will sit like

Thanks again. I'll go try to do the cut and turn today on the beam.

Sorry for the mis information, my ex-father in law had a street baja that was 3/8 and it rode pretty nice. Our car with 9/16 is a RACE car, not comfy on the street. Depends what you really want. i would go 1/2 with stock springs actually, that will get you the full height.

I think they ride great on the street in full race twist, sorry to step on you Mike, 3/8 hardly takes the sag out of the bar, and like I said, 1/4 cannot hardly be noticed for the work involved to do it

Any chance at all that 215/75s will work with out the cut and turn? I'm getting tires tomarrow and i dont have the time to turn it up right now. Maybe i should go with a smaller tire up front?
By the way i checked out those pics DaveCo11. I like the way that looks. But do you have any pics of it sitting still? or maybe at least not flying over a hill? Haha |

I got the stock stuff back in the front today and test fit the tires. 215/75s fit and it looks like i can turn pretty good with no fender rubbing. Might hit on the inner fender a little at full turn. Still need to get better shocks and tie rods and ends. Back will be raised up tomarrow.
