Hello to all!
My name is Scott Small. I have been lurking around a while, in fact, I believe I've read every post on the site. Obviously I am a huge admirer of class 11.

So, it is with great pleasure that I can now say, I finally pulled the plug and bought a '73 today for $300. She's a little rusty, but very straight and original. New floor pans are probably project #1.

Class 11 has been a dream for me for quite a while, and I hope to be able to document the build as much as possible and share it here as it progresses. I plan on building the car myself, and my only real debate is whether or not to build a SCORE legal car or not. I have no delusions of a speedy build, but hope to actually have a race car in a couple of years at most.

I have never raced anything, but I have spent a fair amount of time pitting/chasing for a variety of cars. The last car I helped out with was Bob Depew's bright yellow car on it's maiden voyage at the MORE 500 race, which he won, and I think that's what really sold me on the idea of building a class 11.

So, I hope to become an active participant in your class in the next few years, and hope to get a chance to meet a few of you as well. King Dave is one of my off-road idols, and I just want to thank him now, since I've learned more from his posts than I ever dreamed of. But I also just want to thank all of you for sharing so much info.

Thanks again, Scott.

Thanks for the warm welcome, sir. I'm sure as time goes by I will have more questions, but my first has to be, are you really selling the Deathmobile? Your avatar pic is actually the background pic on my computer.(if that's ok !?) People are always in awe of that photo.
Oh, one more quick question, if I may?
Do you or anyone else have any real world feedback on the FOA shocks I saw in another post? They sure look like they have potential.
Scott

The Deathmobile is sitting next to my living room where it will stay. I had thought of retiring again from class 11 after this last Laughlin race but I have turned down 6 serius offers on it, I want to keep my hand in class 11 and if I sold it I would not be able to race this years Battle at Primm which is my favorit race on the calender these days.. On the FOA shocks I personally have not herd good or bad, I know of one car that has them but it has yet to take to the dirt.

Good news about your car, and good luck at the BAP!

I've read a few good things about the guy who owns FOA, and I like the concept behind his threaded bodies. I will probably try and contact him soon and pick his brain.

I have seen his thing, umm....let me rephrase that, Chris' car is really nice.
But after 5 years invested in my car,(and the fact that he's asking 45k), it would be criminal for me to stop now. My Thing is nearing completion, that's why I decided to start building a class 11. It's kind of a sickness, actually. You would think I would have known better than to start another project, but I, myself, would rather race a car that I built than just buy one.
