I've checked this site on & off for quite some time. Some of you know me.
Real Name: Richard Parcells.
User Name: DustyMojave
on some sites...Mojaveracer208
Occupation: Tech Inspector

Huh?! Where'd everyone go? Must feel guilty or something...They're all crooks! I'm tearin' ya ALL down!!! 1st shock body over 2.000\" is Outta Here!

LOL...not really guys.

I grew up around racing as my folks met at a car race. I started working SCCA Tech at the age of 7 and switched over to offroad race tech while still in High School. Around that time, my dad sat at our dinner table with Mickey Thompson writing the technical part of the original SCORE rules.

I was there when Mickey Thompson told the Tech crew that he was going to start Class 11. I Teched some of the cars for Class 11's 1st race at Riverside in '75. I watched Mickey kick the muddy windshield glass out of the borrowed red Bug owned by a couple from Pennsylvania or somewhere back east who built it on the road as they drove it to Cali for that 1st race. He went on to win his own race. I participated in that totally wrong over-critical \"Everything-Must-Be-Exactly-As-VW-Specced-It\" Rules phase. The Racers had the power to change it all along. All they had to do was get together and insist the rules be changed.

After a while tho, I finished building my own Open Class race car and went out and won a championship from behind the steering wheel. I've built and prepped a lot of other cars in various classes and other types of racing over the years and a substantial percentage have won Class, races and championships. I've been fortunate in that.

I work Tech these days with the A.R.T.S. organization. I work mostly at MORE, MDR and Glen Helen races. Sometimes I'm Chief of Tech. I've seen this deal from all sides and have a strong sense of fairness.

Thank you guys. It's good you won't hold the Tech thing against me, cuz then I'd have to hold it against YOU!

LOL

I have long been a \"friend of the coalition\"...You guys just didn't know it, except maybe Dennis.

Not quite sure what you mean? by \"follow suit\" ...
kick out the windshield?
win in my own races?
or get shot and murdered by hitmen hired by unhappy business associates?

Could happen Bob...
No current plans...but plans develop and change.

A car which has been an inspiration for me since about 1969 is this one from the cover of the original HP Baja Prepping book:

Don Roundtree's Right hand drive Sedan. A little less restricted on class rules, but very cool. I say bring Bugs back to the old Class 6!

I have a pan and shell sitting out back with plans to build one like Roundtree's. It's a ways down the priority list though.
