I've known about this for awhile with dirt bikes and such but wanted to tell you guys that Home Depot sells high temp flat black BBQ paint for High Heat applications that doesn't burn off when you run the motor. I've used it on 2 stroke pipes with perfect results and it keeps the rust away.

The secret to a great Intake or Exhaust paint job is definitely the cleaning process or prep process.
You must really clean your exhaust pipes before applying any type of paint. If sandblasting can be performed, that will be even better. No grease or oil spots.
I have tried Home Depot Paint and it works as well as High Temp Power Coating.
High Temp power coating will withstand 1300 º F, but if prep process is not performed correctly it will just burn off or peal off, so it doesn’t matter what type of paint you used as long as the Prep and cleaning is done correctly.

PS:
After sandblasting used some alcohol to removed any grease that might still be at the metal. Wear plastic gloves to handle parts, finger print grease sucks.
