TOPIC: Race Fuels
Race Fuels 6 years, 7 months ago #31

I was running 76 Competition 100, but my supplier can no longer get it for me, therfore I must switch to VP or F&L. I contacted VP this weekend and they recommeded either C-10 or MS-100. Has anyone hear used MS-100? I believe the only difference is that MS-100 is oxygenated and C-10 is not, but both are unleaded fuels. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brian,
We run F&L 111 leaded and love it. We have never had any issues with it. We usually cut it with 91. I believe the catch name for it is SP1. I ran this stuff in my buggy as well with my turbo VW at 20 psi. of boost without a hick up. |

Another thing. I don't know if you have restrictions but Leaded fuel is the way to go. It helps lubricate the valves and the motor run cooler.

Same here. We run the SP1 by F&L. It's 111 octane and we run it straight! :D

Didn't think that the octane rating would be that high, but hey guess I'll have to jump on that band wagon! What size main jet are you guys running with the 111 octane?

I thought class 11 had the same fuel rule as class 9, Sayin that we can only use unleaded pump fuel. Isn't the high octan unleaded stuff from VP and F&L really expensive?? We just run 91 in my 9 and 11.

The 11 cars have been running PUMP race gas for many years. 110 octane.

Corey,
Yeah the 110 stuff does get rather pricey! Rejet that carb of yours and start running 110. What they mean by pump gas is that any fuel that is not artificially made like nitromethane, alcohol etc... |
