Call Diest direct. They are not in the web catalog but in stock. Just need the year of the doors.

Looks like on a 69 the window openings are 30 x 24 x 16
The El cehapo Summit nets are 26 x 20 x 18\" If I attatch them to the doors directly (some contention about that) Is a 2\" non covered hole on each side going to make any real difference? |

Good luck on getting that by tech. The idea is that your arms don't forced out in a roll over and then crushed, broken or worse.

Donno, considering you have a huge open windshield area I don't see it as an issue. I also do not see the specs define whether the nets have to be secured all the way around. If they do, then it is a mute point and that is the long and short of it. Heck, the rules say they much be secured to the cage. But that is not possible on a class 11. Not trying to argue here. Just seeing what actually is mandatory and what is not. SNORE specs. SCR35 Safety Nets SNORE approved safety nets are mandatory on all vehicles. The nets must be fastened every six inches by hose clamps, snaps, nylon ties, Velcro, lift a dot, metal hooks or steel rods. Netting must be installed on the inside of the roll cage. The nets must cover the whole side of the driver’s compartment. The roof must be covered with sheet metal or aluminum. Must have metal clamps on the top corners. BTW, are the Diest ones $70/ea or 70 total for two? |

Diest are $70 for the set. They fit correctly and look better. I wouldn't mess with that. Your arguement about an open windshield is not really valid compared to the window right next to your hands.

We have the Deist window nets with the snaps that run the perimeter of the net. Even with that, Art or Art's Tech had us screw the top of the net to the door frame. It is an item that they enforce. BITD did also check for the screws on the top of the net.
I agree with Michael Brenner that the front window is not much of an issue. Sitting in the seat, I can't get my fingers more that half way out of the opening of where the windshield was located. |
