I have tentatively set aside some time in late February for upgrading or possibly converting the forum to a completely different software package, which will allow multi-language functionality. As it stands, I am looking first to Simple Machines Forum but may settle for PHPBB3, as it integrates with a Facebook-style application that is really hot.

Along the same lines, I am developing a game plan for several established sites, including this one, to enable an online store as a means of generating revenue and likewise improve upon the community experience on the web as well as in the dirt. My objective is to enlist an established off-road retailer and would prefer one who is already or at least willing to expand into powersports and possibly the action sports markets. This relation would be contingent on certain criteria and require very little, if any, up front costs to the right retailer. I will provide the e-commerce platform and associated product database.

If anyone is aware of dealer who might be interested, please have them contact me or forward me the contact information for the decision maker.

CLASS 11 COALITION Forum - I have used this forum for many clients as well as other operations and have recently opened for other purposes. It enables me to track things a bit better. Both of the current posts are tied directly to the calendar.

A dynamic language translator that utilizes the Google Translator API has been installed. It uses Ajax and dynamically changes the text of each post upon request. It's pretty slick. Because of this, please provide feedback, especially if you find issues and code conflicts.

Later, when I get to using it on several other sites, I may hack it to limit the number of language options to include only Spanish (for our Baja friends and other Mexicans) and many of our European friends who speak German, Italian, French and the more prominent, so as to not be a difficult list to negotiate.

And for the record, in the event you cannot find the translator, it is located on the forum only, on the top right, where the private messages show, when you log in. The language translator shows irregardless of whether you are logged in. I can add it to the rest of the site and probably will, once we get some blog action moving, for those who want to use the blog to post tech articles as well as race team updates and the like.
